About the position

Food insecurity has significantly increased during COVID-19 and Community Connect Toronto is committed to helping.

We are in need of a food packer volunteer to assist with organizing food hampers.

As a packer you will be responsible for unloading and organizing all donations received.

Community Connect Toronto (CCT), is a non-profit organization established in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.  Initially we were just a group of community members sharing resources and delivering items to a small number of families within the community. The need quickly grew and word spread of our activities and resources, and we increasingly got organized.

  • Must have general understanding of food safety protocols

  • Identifying and reporting spoiled foods to supervisor

  • Setting up and take down of food stations before after shift

  • Set up and breakdown of boxes

  • Maintain a healthy and clean work environment

About the organization

Community Connect Toronto ("CCT") was established in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. CCT is filling a big gap - to serve hungry neighbors!

Since our inception, CCT and our partners have proudly served 2000 families and 12k individuals (accounting for a 5.5 median per household), with a daily, volunteer run, delivery and pick up system; entirely with in-kind direct donations so far.

Impact

As a Volunteer Food Packer, you will be providing clients of Community Connect Toronto with healthy food hampers packed for their individual and family needs. You will be ensuring that no one who reaches out to our organization has to go hungry again.
