About the position

No Strings Theatre’s mission is to provide opportunity for emerging artists and young people to develop their skills in all aspects of the music theatre arts – singing, dancing, acting, production – under the guidance of trained professional artists. 


We aim to level economic and other barriers to provide equal opportunity for young people to participate in our programs. 


The Fundraising Manager is responsible for leading all the fundraising initiatives from planning to execution to help meet NST’s financial goals. The individual would preferably have at least one year of fundraising experience. The incumbent must demonstrate strong leadership, communication and relationship building skills with potential donors. The position works closely with the Vice-President and the Chair of External Affairs. The individual will also attend and present at NST’s board meetings to update board members on fundraising matters.The fundraising manager will be supported by our Board Members and volunteers in the course of their duties when requested.


An honorarium will be provided at the end of each quarter


Responsibilities 


  • Develop and implement an annual fundraising plan in collaboration with the External Committee

  • Plan fundraising initiatives to help the organization meet financial goals

  • Strategize and successfully execute fundraising campaigns

  • Craft grant applications and fundraising proposals

  • Identify and build relationships with potential donors

  • Effectively convey the organization’s mission, vision, and programs to potential donors

  • Manage a budget and track whether goals are being met

Requirements

Skills and experience


  • At least one year of fundraising experience

  • Experience with non for profit organizations (asset)

  • Experience writing grant proposals and/or fundraising letters (asset)

  • Strong leadership skills

  • Professionalism, exceptional communication and relationship-building skills

  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail

About the organization

No Strings Theatre program, established since 2005, was modelled after local and international training programs in opera, such as the Summer Opera Lyric Theatre in Toronto, and other such programs designed to provide professional artistic training by means of an intensive program outside of an institutional setting.
