About the position

The Director of Marketing (Board Member) is responsible for providing leadership and guidance to NST’s marketing campaign and initiatives. The individual will provide strategic oversight on NST’s marketing direction to increase awareness and engagement. The incumbent would preferably have a minimum of 1-2 years of marketing experience. The individual will be a member on the Board of Directors and the External Affairs Committee.


  • Establish marketing and social media strategy to meet NST’s and events objectives

  • Develop and implement marketing plan in collaboration with the External Committee

  • Plan marketing campaigns and initiatives to promote the organization and events

  • Strategize and successfully execute marketing campaigns

  • Effectively convey the organization’s mission, vision, and programs to _

  • Attend and present at Board Meetings on marketing campaigns and process

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and share expertise with the Board

  • Assist with the committee's projects and planning efforts

  • Ensure the organization is complying with all legal and regulatory requirements

  • Other duties based on operational needs


Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of marketing experience

  • Experience in a leadership role (asset)

  • Experience working for a non for profit and/or in board governance (asset)

  • Creative, think outside the box

  • Take initiative, strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks

  • Strong leadership skills and can work collaboratively within a team

  • Want to make a difference!


  • Time requirements may vary. Approximately 3-4 hours per week.

About the organization

No Strings Theatre program, established since 2005, was modelled after local and international training programs in opera, such as the Summer Opera Lyric Theatre in Toronto, and other such programs designed to provide professional artistic training by means of an intensive program outside of an institutional setting.
